The Prague metro started operating fifty years ago, on 9 May 1974. Prague therefore became the forty-fourth city in the world to operate an underground railway, changing its face forever. The metro became an inseparable part of life in Prague (approximately one million people travel underground every day) and later became its pride and joy. Here you can see several important moments, remarkable details and the vision of the Prague metro’s future on ten panels.
